After wandering for over two years in the wasteland, and after looking across and away from the vast desert and the vast Blue Ocean to constantly witness how much greener the grass was on the other side, I have, after numerous fits and starts, finally resolved to relocate, and have effectively committed to it. No, I shall not be a resident of both regions, sorry to say, for in doing so, friendships and alliances on both sides would become strained. This desert and this plain through me shall not mix, though it be possible, as others before me have shown.

This person, to whom it is no simple task to cease with favored endeavors--has done the improbable: he has quit the Revolution, and he is off to join the ranks of the Evil Green Empire--enlistment occurs this summer. In this decision lie happiness and contentedness, though elven swordsmen be absent and there are no plumbers to plumb, nor are there assortments of rowdy personalities of old to do battle amongst each other. May the desert one day flourish with life and become as green as the ocean is blue. But until that day comes, prosperity is only to be had as a citizen of one of the two great empires, and I have decided to which I wish to belong.

Live long and bear fruit, Revolution. Perhaps I shall join in once more someday. But should you expire without having fought the good fight, I shall not forgive you--instead, your memory shall perish utterly.

As a last act from me to thee, I give to my most beloved friend the power I once wielded over you. May you find success in his care.

See beaverman you get more replies here than you get on Gamespot. Now start making 360 threads, so people think we actually care about the HD-consoles Nyaa

XD

It'll be hard to be as enthusiastic as others are about the HD systems until I actually get one and start using it! Let's see how patient I can be from now until sometime during the summer. lol

I still think you guys should have waited a few weeks till E3. Isn't it like 6 weeks away?

Beaveman, does your friend have lot's of money? If he has it might be smart to let him buy the 360! Or you could trick him to buy lot's of Wii games, both will work out!

It's not like I didn't consider waiting for E3. One of the other problems I have with Nintendo, in addition to the Wii-specific problems I mentioned in my long post on the first page of the comments, is that they keep their cards extremely close to their chest. I don't want to hold onto a console just because I'm not sure of what's coming up.

And with Nintendo this gen, what's coming up is likely to not interest me at all, or if it does, it'll only be one or two games at most. With the exception of Okami, I'm not really into niche games at all (if Okami can really be considered niche). I have absolutely no problem with the standard fare, and in fact, that's what I want; unlike many of you guys, I never had the fortune of having tons of games each gen, so there was never a big chance for my interest in standard games to wane. I never feel jaded... just bored due to not having a new game when I'm ready for one.

For standard games, I might as well go with another system. If a person doesn't want niche, but likes Nintendo's own games, Nintendo has only exacerbated the "buy a Nintendo console for Nintendo games only" problem that they had with their last two systems--if people want standard games, the problem has been made worse this gen.

I'll tell you what known Wii software, besides most of what I already bought, I see as worth my money in the future: Zelda, and possibly the new Silent Hill. That's it. Everything else is too uncertain, completely unlike the situation with the other consoles.

To conclude: a waiting game is a game I already played and got tired of. I'm no longer going to give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt. If they want any of my money next gen, they're going to have to prove to me that they really want it, because I'm tired of playing the waiting game over and over with them. Nine times out of ten, anymore, they fail me.

Nah, he doesn't have lots of money. But he loves Smash Bros., just like me, and he likes the Wii remote idea/implementation. There are a few other games I had that he likes, too, and he doesn't buy many console games each gen, anyway (he told me, this isn't just a guess), so he doesn't mind. He's primarily a PC gamer, too, which means he won't be as disappointed as I am with the Wii's current--and probably future--library.

Dammit find a rich friend!

P.S. check out the Crystal Chronicles thread, it's the closest thing to Zelda we have.

Okay Beaveman, maybe you should make a 360 recommendation thread. You know give your budget, games you interested in and what kind of game you want to play and we give you our recommendations. Most of us have a HD console, so it should a good start.

P.S. check the GGweekly, 360 Elite + Halo 3 + Fable 2!
