Do you know how many days I've spent with harpoon in hand, prowling about, waiting for the beast to appear? Wanting to spear him and harvest the blubbery goodness?
His name is Guilliver and he flies. Yes, he flies in a UFO above my town in Animal Crossing. He's a special guest, he suppossedly flies above the land and randomly appears from 6 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. In 6 months of playing I have only seen him once, he flashed by in the blink of an eye and before I could even get my slingshot out, he Keyser Sosyed his ass out of town like the wind.
Unless you spend 12 hrs a day monday to friday playing the game, how are you suppossed to catch this randomly occuring UFO? He moves so quickly too. In the DS game he appeared at a prescribed time. I have learned that he will NOT come if you
had any other of the special visitors that day.
But the gifts are great.

As far as Guilliver, I've shot him down four times in the DS version. Oddly though, I never saw him during the first year I played that game; I only came across him in the second year. White Whale, indeed.
I got him in the DS version.
He is so damned fastin the wii game, by the time you equip your slingshot the bastard has vanished. So now I always have my slightshot out. Not only that I also play with nunchuk as to fire the slightshot with wii remote only you have to point your character about the screen first, then click his head to fire. And in the rush it can get very messy.
I guess the best way would be to check the gate everyday. If the dog on the left tells you there are visitors, you know he's NOT coming that day.
Still, I'm not hanging around all day from Mon-Fri.
I talked to a GAF guy and he said that at least the UFO appears right above you. He's seen it twice in 6 months. I've seen it once.
