Fresh powder, pristine slopes and winter fun will again drift into homes in March 2009, as NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today announced We SkiTM and Snowboard, a sequel to its much lauded snow sports game for Nintendo WiiTM.
Topping the list of enhancements in this latest installment of Wii Balance Board standouts is the addition of high-performance snowboarding, as well as improved skiing functionality, two massive new mountains and 10,000 more vertical meters. Complete with fun boxes, rails and a half-pipe, both skiers and snowboarders alike can boost huge air and over-the-top aerial tricks in this epic wintry experience.
“We made major feature additions and control enhancements to an already impressive design set with We Ski and Snowboard,” said Andrew Lelchuk, EVP of marketing and sales for NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. “Our goal was to provide gamers with the same great experience of being on the slopes that they enjoyed in We Ski and evolve it by adding snowboards, two world class hills, real-time trick capability and a fully-interactive environment. And We Ski and Snowboard has accomplished just that.”
We Ski & Snowboard is a wintry thrill ride through many different environments on the awesome Mt. Angrio and cool Jamboree Snow Resort. Players enjoy the classic motion-based controls popularized by We Ski using the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk controllers, or by adding the increased realism of the Wii Balance Board™ for even more ski and snowboard action. Custom characters and player Mii’s™ add even more dimension to snow-capped adventures across even more mountain terrain than ever with vast free-riding areas. Leisurely gondola rides to sloping peaks invite a breathtaking panoramic experience, while heli-drops from extreme dizzying heights offer-up opportunities to shred down vertical cliffs and severe precipices. Players should be sure to watch out for avalanches!
Hot Doggers can quench their thirst for excitement with half-pipe courses, and ski technique challenges, while loungers can look forward to other activities including ski school, board school, moguls and slaloms, as well as animal search and rescue. Players can enjoy the sprawling vistas with day, night and dusk skiing, offering countless nuances to an ever-expanding list of experiences. The whole family can still enjoy fast-paced racing action or free-skiing with four-player fun, while single players can enjoy the ride with up to three AI-controlled skiing buddies.

I'll have to check the trailer out at home.

I don't think I've come across a game where the cable was a problem yet. I think you are mainly using the buttons. The first game let you use either the nunchuk and remote or the balance board or both in combination. I think you tucked in and leaned with the chuk and mote minus the balance board.
SteelAttack said:I thought you would grab the nunchuck/remote like the ski sticks. You know, to impulse yourself.
I think that might be too imprecise. I think you lean, like leaning in Wii Boxing.

WiiFit has a set of balance tests that includes a ski jump. You lean while on the balance board, and then quickly go to a straight position extending your legs, so you can jump. I suck at that exercise, BTW.

I've seen that one. Obviously you have to do some crotch strengthening excercises first.

Definitely. My crotch has been out of shape as of lately, mainly because I can't find my crotchless pants. How the fuck am I supposed to crotch train without the proper gear?

I'd love it if someone hacked Wii Fit to be pervy.
"Now bend over and show your ass. Do it, do it, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah"

The voice of the female trainer makes my bulge protrude.
i've played ssx3 for countless hours and have been missing a really good snow game since. (Didn't try blur though some said it was very good)

Yeah it seems like ages since I've played a good snowboarding game, SSX3 was my last snowboarding game too. Shaun White is suppossed to be good, but I'm just not interested, maybe it was Ubisofts rep coming back to haunt me with their shovelware, or the unique visual style. It just didn't interest me.
Never interested. And before playing the Skate 2 demo, my previous skateboarding game was Skate Or Die, on the NES, lol. Lester was nuts.

I think it's Leo. I would have had this game if it hadn't recycled assets. I never played On Tour though, maybe I should pick it up. I bought 1080 on GC but never really played more than 5 minutes. It doesn't really compare to SSX3.

Did you ever play the one on N64? It was fantastic from what I can remember. Slower and less arcadey, though, I think.

No I toyed with the idea of VC downloading it, but for the same price I got the cube one.
