They tried this once. It was called a golden goal. If you score in the overtime, the game is stopped and the game is over. It sounded good in theory, but it did not work in practice. No one dared to attack, because one mistake and it was over.
Then they tried the silver goal concept. If you are ahead in the overtime in the first half the game is stopped and you win, kinda retarded and it was dropped too. So we are back at square one, the best system they have, 2 time overtime and then the nerve wrecking penalties.
