A sidescrolling 2D Contra-style Halo and/or Doom would be cool.
Elder Scrolls comes to mind with an overhead 2D perspective.

What game do you think would benefit from getting a 2D treatment (similar to how Prince of Persia recently did).
It could be a game returning to its 2D roots or a game that has always been 3D -- like Halo for example.
