Splatoon 2 is selling 7x faster than S1 in Japan.

Finally unlocked the Gold Aerospray. I think this is the ultimate turf wars weapon. You can score about the same as the silver one but the sprinkler makes it easier to manage areas and build up your special and then the hamster ball specials lets you either escape or bomb people at choke points.

Feels somewhat like the best weapon/sub/combo in S1, the Nzap/Sprinkler/inkstrike.

I hate Aerosprays with a burning passion.

I've been confronted with those 'special bombers' you mentionned in a game for the first time.  There was this guy who'd cover a lot of turf and when he'd spot you he'd just run towards you in his baller like some inkling suicide bomber.  Very annoying.

lol. They used to be easier to avoid but the recent patch reduced damage when using it by 40% for everything but dualies and gatlings, rollers too I think.

Learned you can jump and run up sheer vertical walls in that hamster ball so it can be pretty fun to use.

I find the baller special to be pretty handy in tower control and splat zones where everyone's trying to dominate a small stretch of the map, but not so much in turf wars.  If you're paying attention and see them coming, they're fairly easy to evade.

The important question here is: will you be joining us for Splatoon tomorrow evening?

Probably not, I work Saturdays.

Ballers are great for crossing un-inkable ramps at top speed and getting behind enemy lines.

The new map seems very different from the others.  It has some actual chockepoints at a third of the map, snipers can really make the difference here. The side areas are a bit too large though, they're just large open spaces that take too long to ink.

Got the inkling boy amiibo. I nabbed a Ninja mask gear and took some photos with my amiibo. Then I saved my favourite gear to the amiibo and now to get that loadout I just hold the amiibo over the right joycon in the lobby.

So basically they probably don't have loadouts in the game because they were saving it for amiibo. Sucks, as I can only keep one set of gear on it.

Is there a way to make community posts without linking your NNID to Facebook or twitter?  I really don't want to do that.

Not that I know of.

How are your custom gear sets coming along? Costs a hell of a lot to farm those ability chunks. 20 for each ability??

20'000 to scrub gear too.

I was both ill and working on Sunday.  I didn't get to play during the splatfest. Sad

So how are you guys coming along with ability chunks and crafting specific gear? I used Salmon run to get repeat items and farm chunks. Tried to apply them, but found out that you need either 10, 20, then 30 chunks of a single ability to give yourself one specific secondary ability on your favourite gear. This will take FOREVER.

I've been scrubbing gear, but again, you have to scrub for instance 20 times to get 20 speed abilities (and that is just for 20 chunks) let alone the 30 some ask of you. So I've come to the conclusion that sea snails are the only answer. Like SPlatoon 1, just use them to lottery roll your abilities till you get two of the same ones you want on one item. Then use chunks for the final circle. Still going to take ages.

Also learned that the ink cloud damages enemies twice as much when they are far away compared to near you. So always back off and launch.

Loving some of the changes.

  • Stingray improved, wider radius of damage. Maybe it won't be a POS anymore
  • Ink Armour users you can push back when dealing over 100% of damage so my Gatling will push them back now like the old bubbleshield
  • Splashdown radius and damage increased, great for roller uses, but its going to be annoying for splooshomatic babies
  • Ink storm is easier to charge and radius increased
  • Baller is now more resistant and more powerful
  • Easier to shoot down inkjet users and you wont be killed by the exhaust anymore
  • Tri Slosher has been nerfed, somewhat. yes

I saw someone on Artblot ink academy do something that kinda of smacks of breaking the rules. He jumped from on high onto an inked tree and somehow jumped directly off that onto our spawn point turf.
