There's only one person on the site who'd I'd consider meeting in person and he shall go unnamed.
A big holiday meet up of everyone would be fun but I would worry we'd just get into a big argument and spoil the friendships.
What harm could it do? I don't think anyone would judge and it would likely be a lot of fun for a day.

I think reality might be a lot different from expectations and we might, unintentionally offend each other in some way. Or not "get" each other in real life leaving someone feeling left out maybe.

I guess we just see things differently, though I admit to being shy about talking to friends in an online game. I guess I'm fearful of coming off like a complete stuttering idiot. So I can see the hesitation. I just think it would be neat to connect with people you've known for years on the internet. I don't mean everybody that I'm friends with online, but I think the VGPress has a unique group of people that I wouldn't mind meeting for a beer or just talking to for a few minutes.
There was 1:1 continuity from online to "real life" with the first locally recorded Press Room podcast. Unless someone is projecting a completely falsified persona, then there's no reason to think there wouldn't be. And even if they were, why couldn't they continue in person anyway? And we unintentionally (and intentionally) offend each other online all the time.

You know I was going to invite all of you for a great big friendly meet and greet with Miyamoto, but I'm afraid he doesn't like most of you these days. He feels that in recent months everyone at this site has started to believe that the Wii U will fail and that we aren't true believers anymore. His exact words were, "I hope you and your VG press buddies all get your dicks stuck in your Playstations while you're busy fucking them." Of course he said it in Japanese. But yeah he's not happy with anyone, even with me. In fact I had to make him this lovely Goomba bento box just to get him to talk to me again.
