Just wanted to throw my final thoughts on RE8 into this thread before moving on. Overall, well I enjoyed the variety of gameplay, I think I overall preferred RE7. It had a more focused direction and I think it did a better job of nailing that. RE7 generally scared the crap out of me a couple times.

Anyway, not to say that this still wasn't a fun game. The opening sequence with the lycan attack was fantastic. And Lady D's castle with the daughters was very reminiscent of what I loved RE7.  That's also where the game peaked for me. I did like parts of the lake segment and the factory was really good, but it just went on too long. That battle with heidenreich was one of my favorite boss battles of the series though.

That's another small complaint. Overall, I thought the boss battles were a little lacking. I didn't find any of them real interesting aside from the aforementioned one. That leads me to the dollhouse segment. I still think that could have just been an entire full motion video. The baby was creepy, but very easily avoided. Maybe that changes on a harder difficulty? I don't know, it is a segment I'd probably want to skip if I ever do another playthrough, but at least it's brief I suppose.

I'd also like to have a special shout out to the Duke. For whatever reason, I found the character super intriguing. I really hope he makes a return to the series, because I would love to find out more about him. I was actually a little disappointed day left his origin clouded in mystery, so I hope that means it gets revisited.

Overall it was a really good game. Great setting, and lots of memorable moments. Certainly worth playing.

Baby setting is good for one go and even then it was easy. Sucks on future play throughs and feels like a waste of time. Yes in the end I would put RE7 slightly ahead of 8.
