I have no words.
NES games. Hmmmmmm. They should change the title as it sounds like something you would ignore in bargain bins. Hope you pick it up and tell me about it. Screens please.

Yes, the advertising and name of the game are what is going to make most people ignore this game. On my first exposure to it I thought it was a compliation
With sterling dropping in world exchange rates I can't even afford to import anymore.

I'll youtube myself playing it when it gets through my import channel and link you. I'll do it in segments so you can tell me L R ^ Down and so on. It'll be like a Choose Your Own Adventure Book - Or KOTOR.
on exchange rates ... it's only a matter of time before the euro takes a plunge (inflation ftw) ... but i'd still like to see what that totalitarian bastard gordon brown has to say now about so proudly screwing the UK out of the euro zone. cat got his tongue?

It's not the euro decision that screwed us. It's his unprecented borrowing and nationalising of banks.

There are some helpful youtube links from this site:

that flesh out what is going on with this game.
This will be the next game I play once it gets here and I'll be reporing back.
What I expect is a game with the charm of Contact but with better execution with the subject being "video games" as opposed to whatever the hell was going on with Contact.
Started playing it last night. It is even better than I expected it to be. The shooter level is on par with any of the very good shooters of the period (84) and the platformer is as innovative as Braid, some clever stuff.
Oozes charm as well.

Thanks for reminding me that Contact sucked and completely failed to live up to my expectations. This game on the otherhand does look kind of cool. May have to check that out.
I've ended up playing Cosmic Gate more than I expected to, and I constantly find myself replaying Haggle Man as well. And I'm starting up a Guadia Quest playthrough.
lordandrew said:Retro Game Challenge is indeed a great game. Although the challenge structure got occasionally annoying, I didn't really mind much.

I'm only up to the first Rally game (whatever it is called). I like that the challenges are difficult, though some are taxing, they are always fair (in the NES way).
I e-mailed XSEED about the sequel here is what they said,
"It's been great hearing from the countless enthusiastic Retro Game Challenge fans such as yourself out there, but unfortunately the title still needs a lot more sales at retail before we can consider bringing over the sequel.
If the loyal fans out there can continue to spread the word and drum up more support and sales, we would love to work on the sequel. Oh, and if you have any ideas on how we can make the print ads for the sequel better (if we ever work on it), I'd love to hear it. Always looking for ways to connect to the gamers better with relevant ads."

It sounds like the perfect opportunity for a DSiWare game or Wiiware.
A game like this will struggle at retail.

"The one-line, barebones description:
A Japanese man named Arino becomes so fed up with losing to his friends in today's videogames that his anger manifests itself into a cybernetic demon version of himself called Game Master Arino. As you start the game, Arino sends you, the player (you can choose to be a boy or a girl) back to the '80s -- 1984 to start -- where you meet and make friends with the adolescent Arino. Game Master Arino then forces you to complete a series of challenges in a variety of games from this alternate-universe deacade. Why? Because he's EEEVILLL!
