As someone who will never be able to play this due to a lack of ability, I look forward to your impressions as well as anyone else who is playing.
I have played some hard games in my life, I can spend hours on one boss, throwing controllers until I beat it. This is near the top of the list of hardest games I have played. I already had four bosses that have taken me over an hour to beat. I have hit a low of frustration where I was just miserable, blaming the game for my suckatude. But I think I am reaching that sweet spot where all skills are coming together and I am making good progress. This combat system is so unforgiving, one tiny mistake and they will punish you severely. It’s all about reaction time, not sure I am a big fan of that, I like strategy more than pressing buttons at the right time but it’s still very engaging.
World design is superb. Everything I love of souls is present including those insane moments of some crazy monster just appearing out of nowhere. Hidden secrets all over, mysterious bosses that I probably shouldn’t fight yet. So it’s brilliant stuff.
I’ve been watching some of this on Twitch and while I love the look and most all of the gameplay, mostly in fighting regular enemies and such, I’ve now seen a couple of boss fights that now have me questioning if I actually want to get the game now. I’ve played and beaten many hard games over my life, and I still do to this day, but this looks like it might be a bit too much even for me.

I saw that too. I must say, very impressive cocks.

I was going to complain that this was a regression to early Souls impressions: it's hard, a few minor details about gameplay, say world building is good but not why, making for something that sounds tremendously uninteresting. But I stand erected. You've managed to peak my interest.
Almost done, its been one hell of a ride. The bosses are brutal, multiple 2+ hour fights, absolute tests of skills. Also maybe I did some out of order which made it harder on me, but thats part of the fun of these games, the openess to explore and get into your own troubles. The level design is very cool, very vertical because of all the swinging around. Much more open than a Souls games, usually large areas to mess around with. I dont think combat is the best, I still think Nioh has a better combat system and Souls games have better world design but there isnt any game that mixed those two aspects so well.
Beat it yesterday, final boss took me almost 4 hours. I'll have a review up later but this game was more frustrating than it had to be.

Boy you must be crap at the game.
Sekiro!!!!! It’s amazing so far and fucking hard as hell. You must unlearn what you have learned. This isn’t about careful planning, dodging sheilding and picking spots to attack. This feels like a crazy punch out game where enemies will come at you with super fast attacks and you need to time the blocks or dodge perfectly. Enemies have various types of attacks, some can only be avoided by different button presses. It all happens so fast, the windows to react are so small. It’s ridiculous.
But it has all that mystery and magic of expiration souls has. I just had one hell of a crazy moment.
