I've created a preliminary VG Press signature.

<a href="http://thevgpress.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://thevgpress.com/sigs/rank.php?id=999" alt="The VG Press" title="The VG Press" /></a>

Change 999 to your user ID, which you can get from your profile address for example, mine is user ID 1 from (http://thevgpress.com/users/yodariquo_1)

Is there a way to add the amazon video game deal of the day to the vgpress store?

I'll take another look at integrating it directly, but I didn't find the option when I looked before.

However, any prices with Amazon Deal of the Day can still be purchased through the store by using the search box to find the product.  It should come up and listed at the deal price.

Okay, got it.

Cool.  You've given me a reason to post on gamespot again (to promote this site).

I'm going to create a generator to create the sig markup in either BB script or HTML depending on what you need with the appropriate user ID so no editing has to be done.

However, I need somewhere to put it.  Any suggestions on this are well welcome because honestly I have no idea where it should go.

Under My Profile. Also, not sure what your philospohy is on e-mailing users (or even the capability), but could also contact the user base lettigng them know about the new feature. Might drive dormant users to the site.  Again, not sure of the philosophy there, all my IT experience has been in the for-profit realm where scruples are a little different.

The only intended use has been to reset passwords, which I've failed to have bothered to implement, and need to.  If I did any e-mail alerts, it would be opt-in as opposed to opt-out.

You should see much better performance on the Gaming and Non-Gaming boards (as opposed to in the topics themselves) now due a few different optimizations.  In the process, I've decided to remove the display of the upvotes of threads for the time being.  There should be ways to make it more practical in the future, but for now I've just removed it altogether.

Scratch that, updated to allow for the topic votes with negligable performance difference.

If I may direct your attention to the user profiles, you now have a personal profile section on there to write whatever you'd like.

Cool.  Maybe you can also add some text to the leaderboard page, just to explain what it is?

I just tried the pofile. After successfuly submitting it the niceditor stays open. Can you kick the user back to their profile page afer submitting?

Ah, I had meant to do that, and apparently just forgot.  Updated.

Thanks. and okay, one more idea. Imentioned this in pasing, but don't thikn I really explained it.  I can also see why this would be difficult to pull off (or if it would be preferable).

The start of a new week of ggweekly is always nice - clean slate and all - but it has some downsides:
- One misses out on the recently filed stories from the weekend.
- If a new user comes in on Monday they must look at the empty ggweekly and think -- so what is this thing?

I was wondering if it were preferable to have the ggweekly roll -- that is have the oldest day drops off and the newest day is always in the right column (as opposed to clearning the slate every Monday).

As simple and obvious as that seems, I had never even thought of it.  I can see it being trickier to implement than it sounds, but definitely doable for the latest week.

Where complications get in is with regard to the archives.  You'd want to be able to go back to previous weeks as opposed to just the most recent week.  Most likely I'll dual-implement.  Have it by default that by just vising ggweekly alone you get the rolling version, but check the archives and you get it as it is now.

Believe me, you don't want inline spell-checking with JavaScript.  You want to cover this at the browser or even OS level.  Opera 10 has built-in spell checking (though it's screwed up for me now).

Fixed various aspects of the voting system interface.

Yoda, in response to Iga's gay pics, I'd like to suggest, if possible, that the Hide Post feature remain in place even after a page refresh. Currently, whenever I hide a post, it doesn't stay hidden. This is true in both Opera 9.64 and IE8 RC1.

Also, is there an RSS feed for GGWeekly posts? There's one for the news, but I don't see one for the posts. If there isn't one, that would be a very useful feature too.

Though long overdue, this is generally in place now.  Not perminent hiding, but rather if you down vote a post, it will stay hidden even if you navigate away or refresh.

Though it should be readily apparent, I updated some visual aspects, and added the date the user joined the site.

You may or may not know that this forum is proprietary as opposed to something like vBulletin or phpBB.  I had a few different reasons to do this, but as a result there are naturally ups and downs.  One is that it may be missing features you typically in other boards and want.  Please pass along any features you find yourself missing.
