I'm outraged Yoda spoke so poorly on the Wii steering wheel. It was simple, elegant, and exactly the kind of steering controller than a console game needed. That monstrosity on the other hand is ridiculous on every level. Even at $40 + whatever the current cost of a Move controller is, I just don't see anyone buying it.

On the other hand he mentioned Harvest Moon earlier in the podcast so it balances things out.

Nice job as always guys.

50% as much clipping as last podcast I listened to. Sounds drastically better.

Dragon’s dongma. :lol;

“2 out of 5, that’s pathetic”

10 seconds later.

“2 out of 5, not bad”

LOL

The first 14 hours of Kingdom hearts? Only 6 hours less of badness than FFFXIII and FFXIII gets thrashed for it?

You underestimate me, Aspro. (Can't remember what that's referring to.)

iTunes menu is absolutely horrible. On the iTunes player for PC anyway. Worst media player I've tried.

Real world elder scrolls. This is my fantasy, but not made by Bethesda, and nothing like Elder Scrolls, but I’m with Yoda; manpower is surely a bigger issue than technology.

The tide started turning with StarCraft Ghost. >_>

I started the StarCraft hacking video and had no idea what was going on. (I was watching it while listening to podcast.) I paused the podcast, and Yoda kept on talking! Mind=blown. That last bit was hilarious.

Killzone 3’s online is horrible. Tribes should not have an exp system. TRIBES WITHOUT BOTS?!??! To me it simply sounds like you just haven't played either TF2 or Tribes long enough. Tribes if anything like the original should be completely inaccessible to noobies---you had to join a fucking clan to even start playing online. I played TF2 on PS3 so it was all in all a weird experience but I never noticed a problem with people not doing objectives or following their roles properly. Maybe it's different on PC. Though I did play during the last Halloween event and there were a lot of people not shooting the giant eye, buth that's a one off event so is not too surprising. It was very entertaining listening to the few people with headsets complain the whole game about people not shooting the eye, though. LOL

I also accidentally opened a ticket for in-game coaching which was a surreal, and highly amusing experience. My coach's voice was breaking as we played.

96 for Orange Box on PS3 is certainly not a fair enough score.

Another great podcast...66% impressions, and 33% news, though? Not that I'm complaining or anything.

Vader and Foolz. Sorry about the news content.  That's the difference between show prep and not, we went on at very short notice.

I have enjoyed the super large news stacks we have done in the more recent shows, even if we only say one or two lines.

What do you think of the length though? I am trying to curb these to 90 minutes. Usually with game impressions it is 20 minutes per person on average. My diversionary segments usually add 7 minutes. I guess if we had listeners that felt strongly they'd let us know what they liked and didn't.

I still need your help on the clipping.

Personally I most like podcasts that are around an hour in length, but I'm certainly not the target audience for making a podcast. WinkWink

If I make it on for the next one I'll give you instructions on skype before or after the podcast.

I'm struggling with why we even do the podcast at this point. Hard to really articulate it. The lack of feedback from our listeners is starting to wear me down, wondering if we are shouting into the wind and how much of a contribution the podcast is to the site.

I honestly don't enjoy being on the podcast itself, but it doesn't seem like one gets done without me poking and prodding.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy talking with you guys and editing it, I'd just much rather listen to you guys then myself, especially since I already have an oversize content footprint on this site.

I understand this is non-actionable, just getting some thoughts out of my head, so they don;t have to be rattling around in there.

The question and the answer, no?

Just heard the podcast, another great one. I loved the saving talk, I'm with you guys. I really enjoyed the impressions in this one because it involved games I wanted to hear about. I think impressions can be very hit an miss totally dependent on the listener. I think new big releases are always good cause usually there is some general interest, which is why I loved the dogma talk.

As for length I always though an hour would be good but I guess podcasts are larger. Usually I say thetly should be as long as they are, just make sure we don't linger on one topic for too long

Aspro I didn't know you felt that way. I love doing podcasts, I do it just so I can talk games with someone. I know my schedule is all over the place at times but for the most part I am good almost every night after 11:30 which can be a crappy time.

What I don't like to do is host which is why I usually like when you, yoda or foolz is on.

I'm of the same perspective, which is why I often prefer longer casts.  An hour is a good time strictly in terms of a chunk, but in terms of a show it's much better when we get to talk about what we want.  When it goes long, it's because it's interesting.  Just as you said have to be conscious of not dragging on too long on a given point.

Yeah. I'll be better about that. Not getting stuck on one game or story. Particularly if it is a topic that has been done to death.

For listening, as a podcast junky I love like 2-3 hours podcasts. I mean, if I like the people and they are talking about interesting stuff, I usually can't get enough and as I've said before I listen as I do my work.

In my experience it is almost impossible for our show to come in under 1 hour 20 minutes, and as a goal we should aim around that mark, and if we go over we go over, but usually around the 1:10 mark I start to watch the clock and move things along.

Agreed, which is why big games are terrible for impressions. Nyaa No need to hear the same thing that is there everyone else. It's fine when you've got someone like Yoda on who will be shitting on whatever they're playing, though.

John Cleese once said that he discovered it is always funnier to watch someone react to something strange thatn it is just to show something strange, and you just proved it. Have not laughed that much in I don't know how long.

That explains why John Cleese's whole schtick is doing strange stuff.

EDIT:

Awesome video, though Yoda. The last two deaths were amazing in their exact repetition.

Somehow we've got to get you a copy of Rayman Origins, Aspro. We'll need a shot of you face while you play as well.

He said that he came across that when making Fawlty Towers, so that was late in his career (the end of his career so far as I am concerned. He was speaking specifically about The Germans episode.
