Disembodied notes while I listened:
- Borderlands. I don't think they have respawning. Even if you die the bandits don;t come back. Those little lizards maybe.
- Aussie game prices. The dollar is the same as USD. Problem with Aussie game prices it that they have to make the covers seperate due to local rating, plus low population (so no economy of scale in production), plus high taxes. Thing is, digital distribution is also higher -- like iTunes being 50% more here.
- Dead Space 3 preorders are not up due to any merit of the franchise, it's just a sign of EA perfecting the the pre-order mating dance.
- Skylanders brings in crazy revenue Yoda (it's the NFC toys).
- "agent hunk mode"

I recall in either DQ5 or 6 you got to play as the item shop owner, though no where near as complex as what this one sounds like.
Really enjoyed the podcast, just finished listening to it last night. It was longer than usual, but it was all interesting. Too bad no one has listened to it yet. Beyond my 2 test downloads we've only got 2 other downloads so far.
When Yoda first mentioned Starcraft II patch implosion on the forums I searched for news to post abuot it and it seems to have flown under the radar.

Yeah, there's decidedly and amazingly less complaining about this patch than any minor inconvenience garners. Here are the resources to reference:

Looks like there was an article on GameSpot

Then disparate posts on different things. But really, there was a hell of a lot more complaining about the previous balance patch than this. Guess people only like to complain about nonsense instead of real problems.

Oh and there is loads of reaspawning in Boarderlands. just go to one side of the map and go back, everyone you killed is alive again.
We have steel and no one listens.
If you leave the map there is respawning, but not when you stay in it. The Skags respawn endlessly, I'll grant you that.
Like if you are taking down a base camp, those dudes don't respawn within your current mission. You can clean out a whole area and they'll stay dead. If you leave and come back, yeah they come back. I'm talking about, like, there are no endless closets of enemies.
I tell you though, I've never seen a game with so many people having the same love-hate cycle with this game. I started out loving it, then went sour on it, now I've loving it again (which was Steel's reaction too). You seem to have gone back and forth on it as well.

I just stopped playing it for Skyrim. Its a fine game but I will play it off and on.
That's so funny because that's exactly what I am doing. Which is how I've always played these loot style games
It's just a bit of a grind to be the only thing you're playing.
Steel, the reason you didn’t speak with the old lady is you didn’t want to have sex with her. Entirely your fault and not the game's.
“I might as well not even play it”
But you’ll play any old crap. You definitely hate Witcher, Vader. This proves it.
“It’s like the protagonist of the game is Stephen King, and the guy talking is Foolz.”
Alan Wake sounds even worse than American Nightmare. Geez. Can I just say it’s awesome that you and I both hate (well I like it, but we agree it’s pretty terrible) the same series? It’s unprecedented. <3 My opinion bros Steel and Vader.
DLC sounds awesome.
Yep, American Nightmare is a standalone game, though basically an expansion pack.
Skype noises are very annoying...surely there's a way for them not to be recorded.
Trans-oceanic highway.
Euro/pounds. Good to see we can still stuff up news stories without me there.
Samsung leading brand in TVs? Noooo, the best TVs are random European manufacturers and cost 10,000+.
Digimon>>>Pokemon. Sometimes the rip-off is better than the original.
Just yesterday I spent probably one whole hour on a single Rayman speed run. Gave up eventually, and tried again today. Took 2 or 3 attempts.
Great to have Steel on! The Sony discussion was especially entertaining. Great job all.
A note on the editing Aspro: sound quality was really excellent, but you had about 3 extra decibals to play around with while still avoiding clipping, and not sacrificing too much sound quality.
aspro said:^I did what you told me to
You forgot the final stage: post-amplification. However it doesn't really matter. That's what the volume knob on the amp or speakers is for. Doing the post-amp would just be for a more universal sound level of the podcast, and also so that lazy listeners don't have to fiddle with their volume too much. Such as me.
^Okay, I re-read what you sent me. Yeah,I can't do that. Not on my current computer at least. It already takes as much time as the podcast is long to encode it into MP3, so to do that twice is a non-starter.

No problem. I thought that may be the case, though not quite as extreme as the encoding taking the whole length of the podcast. Ouch. It's just a bit of extra polish so doesn't really matter, and doesn't (positively at least anyway) affect the sound quality.
