I'll be studying for most of tomorrow and making a cheatsheet for a midterm that I have on Tuesday, but after that's out of the way I'll try to whip something up. Right now I'm thinking of a small newspaper icon.
Logo or banner? Or icon?

Ok scrap that idea of studying all day, I decided to procrastinate and jot some quick ideas for logos:
1. Nerdy smiley
2. Enigmatic symbol
3. Jumble of letters
4. Actual news-style logo. I think this looks most professional even in rough-form and is probably my favourite.
Other potentially good ideas include just blatently ripping off the logos of Fox/ABC/CNN/CNBC
Bottom right one is the best Yarcofin.
How about a slogan?
The VG Press: all the news at your fingertips
All the fingers at your newstips?
All the tips at your fingernews?
"All the gaming news, now with 300% more genitalia references ©"
Or just a big seal of approval that says "Now with cock!"

Too lazy to match the font of the current header but....

I can't decide what sounds better, "class and style" or "style and class".
I'll stop entirely revamping the site now

Now we need a classy and stylish logo.

The newspaper icon looks okay but it's a bit flat compared with the font, need to 3d-ize/shadow it to some extent to make it fit in is what's missing I think. It may be as simple as putting a shadow behind it on the left.
I think the slogan should be:

Nothing makes people want to participate like degrading the hell out of them
Keep in mind that the best logos are historically simple and work in greyscale.
