Yes, trying not to binge and instead watch one episode every evening.  Will be watching episode 8 tonight.

Such a great series.  And I just love the Netflix way of releasing the entire season and letting one make of it what they will, instead of drip feeding the episodes.

Yeah with netflix I always leave it to one episode a night.

The one pedantic thing that bothers me about Narcos is the historical inaccuracies with various car models, electronics etc... again a small pedantic distraction.

No excuse. My 1 hour of TV time is usually shared though, so I have to compromise.

Still need to check out Narcos. I started it when it first came out but got distracted after the first episode. Maybe next week. Season 3 of The Blacklist just came out and that has my full attention at the moment.

I think I saw it already on Sky Atlantic.

I thought about watching that, but I read a news article on the real life assasin it was based on and it turned my stomach. Some of that stuff is horrific. Knowing it really happened makes the thought of watching it quite unpleasant.

I watched "The Big Short".  It's about the "three" people who foresaw the collapse of the markets in 2008 simply by noticing that more and more people were defaulting (or about to default) on their mortgages (because nobody was checking their financial status prior to granting them the mortgage) while bankers were still making disgusting amounts of money trading in mortgage bonds which were effectively worth less than toilet paper.

True story.  Well made movie making some very good points, most important of which being that no one took the blame for this.  Those who were fully responsible for causing this through greedy and unethical practices (and sheer stupidity and arrogance) were never held responsible.  The governments bailed them out using tax-payers money.  The irony here being that many of those taxpayers (and a few of those governments) were completely ruined.  The only country which demanded accountability from the banking sector was Iceland.

It will make you angry but it's well worth watching.

I also finished Narcos Season 2.

I enjoyed the book, as I do almost all of Micheal Lewis' works.  I also predicted the collapse and benefited financially from it. It;s always amazed me that more people did not do the same, it was as obvious as anything could be.

Since I had some downtime, I got through the first season of Narcos. Really wish I had watched this show sooner. Absolutely fantastic. Kind of interesting how the show spans about a 15 year period, of which I was alive for all of it, and yet it still ended 20 years ago. THat made me realize I'm old.

I think so. It's a Netflix original show, and I don't think they release their original programming on DVD.

They released other original series on DVD and Blu-ray it just takes awhile.

I think this month or last month they're finally releasing Daredevil season 1 on Blu-ray.

I also see Orange is the New Black and House of Cards on Blu-ray and DVD at Wal-Mart every week.

Ahhh well there you go Travo. Just wait a few more months and you can enjoy the raw coke fueled sensuality of senior Pablo Escobar.

Season 1 of Narcos is already available on DVD.

I saw it when I went to redeem my UltraViolet code for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition.

Let me know what you think about Luke Cage Ninty. I just watched the first episode of it. It didn't grab me as quickly as Daredevil or Jessica Jones (which I still haven't finished) did. This seems like its going to have a little more complex of a story than either of the other Marvel shows have had, so it might need to unravel a little slower. Not giving on up it by any means, but the show definitely wasn't what I expecting thus far.

Have watched about four episodes of Luke Cage.  I don't normally go for superhero shows but the setting character of this one drew me in.  I think I like most things about it.  Casting is decent, production values are good.  The musical direction and soundtrack is phenomenal and possibly the main draw for me.

One thing that still irks me is the "era" it is set in.  Everything about the story, the themes, the mood, the context is decidedly seventies (blaxploitation, black panthers, civil rights struggles, NY crime syndicates, soul and funk music etc) ... yet it's somehow set in the current era.  Everybody has a big touchscreen phone, they are discussing relatively current NBA coaches, modern cars/guns etc.  I try to avoid thinking about it but it makes it that much harder to achieve suspension of disbelief.

Next one for me will be Designated Survivor.
