Archie, I've never known you to turn down flapjacks.
Well I was pretty low on Yen at the time and figure that I could just return later on.
*Later that night*
Oh man that movie was hilarious.
My first impressions of Days Gone are really positive. It's TLoU in an open world. It utilizes some of the same systems in similar ways. I've only done about an hour but I believe I'm going to enjoy this one.
Glad you're finally getting around to it. It really was one of my favorite games in years. It's a little long and could have had a few hours shaved off of it towards the end, but other than that I couldn't come up with a single complaint.
I think in comparison to the last of us, particularly the sequel, Days Gone has a more upbeat feel to it. There's no shortage of dark in downer moments mind you, but overall the game gives you a little more hope for the world and maybe humanity.
What's in it for you I hear you say? Squat diddly! But I'll get €30 store credit out of it. What do you say BFF?
Happy New Year to our time travelling compatriots. 🎉
I might be in love with Days Gone almost as much as The Last of Us series. It's not so difficult where you want to quit, but every battle that I win feels earned. Managing my bike is...sort of fun, though I can see myself tiring of it. I'm thinking of just running to every location to save on gas. I'm really addicted to leveling up and will soon go on a mission to destroy as many nests as possible.
I found a NERO station and was looking for a way in. A nearby train of about fifty Freakers spotted me and I was soon surrounded by about fifty of them. I stood no chance, but I will have revenge.
Happy New Year to those stuck in the past.
I thought I would hoof it and use the bike sparingly at first. Turns out, that's not really a practical option. The good news is upgrading your bike is actually very simple and there aren't Even that many upgrades though it does seem like that at first. Just get every upgrade that you can as soon as you can. they all make a pretty noticeable difference over time.
A belated (or early?) Happy New Year!
Yep, went straight to Copeland's camp to upgrade but I'm only level one with those guys . So my upgrades were minimal. Every little bit helps, I suppose.
One funny thing that happened is that I did go by foot to a mission. I had to tail a helicopter and once I started I was magically on my bike.
Leo appears! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
...and a big old FUCK OFF to 2020!
🥳
Days Gone is so much fun. I had to search for a girl in a deserted town. I had to extinguish these nests first. Then I got into a major gun fight with a gang. Luckily, some of the zombies(Freakers) attack them as well. Once everyone was eliminated, I finally had a chance to find the girl. I found her upstairs in a house and we quietly made our way back to my motorcycle to be confronted with a giant, infected bear. So fun. And tense!
Happy New Year everybody! Just had a nice countdown with a fireworks display in Animal Crossing. 🎉
First impresisons of Felix the Reaper (playing on Switch). All I knew was that it was a puzzle game involving a dancing Grim Reaper.
It's a puzzle game where you have to reach a certain point on the board, or collect an item and place it somewhere. As a grim reaper, you can't stand direct sunlight and have to remain in the shadows (because we all know that's how it works). The board is divided into squares and all setpieces and objects throw a shadow that's between 2 and 5 squares long. As we all know, grim reapers have the ability to move the sun between 2 positions at a 90° angle of eachother, meaning you can travel orthogonally over the board, as long as you're standing on a square that's in the shade in either of sun position.
That's the basic premise, and the puzzles become devious early on. What ruins the game for me is that you don't directly control your character, but rather you control a cursor and have to click on the spot you want Felix to move to. So you have a game about a dancing grim reaper in which the dancing has no gameplay function at all.
this could have been a very charming game, but instead it's just a collection of loose idea's thrown together, regardless of if they mesh or not. To make it worse, the trailer focuses a lot on the dancing, giving you the impression it's a central part of the game.
Disappointing.
