“We’d like to announce the PSVR2 Pro. Only $750. Please be excited.”
So this weekend saw the final Splatfest take place in splatoon 3. Nintendo created a whole new hub area specifically for this event. It was a festival grounds on which you could see the presenter groups from all 3 games perform, culminating in a joint performance Sunday evening with matching clothing. It was generally well done, with about a thousand jellyfish people as audience and paint spraying in multiple places so that everyone there was covered in multicoloured blobs of ink. Very on brand.
If anything, for all the stalls offering different foods or selling merch (which you could see the jellyfish people sporting on the grounds), there was a big lack of interactivity. You couldn't actually buy anything or do anything, other than watch the ongoing shows. Would have been cool if there was special gear that you could buy at the stals.
Also, LOD was pretty hilarious. While it was impressive to see the Switch rendering it all, the Jelly fish crowd had some harsh LOD scaling with any figure standing about 8 meters away from you having their bulbous head reduced to something eerily similar to SH's Pyramid head.

Oh hell no
I'm waiting on a Splatoon action rpg
The Nintendo Switch 2 console has entered full production, and the unofficial name that has been used so far for the system may be the official one, according to rumors circulating online.
As reported on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, a Famiboard user called fwd-bwd shared new information discovered on a Chinese forum from a supposed line worker regarding the console. This Chinese user revealed that the system has begun production, with a quota of 1000 units a day per worker. The system is slightly larger than its predecessor, has a smaller bezel, and will come with black and white Joy-Con controllers. Additionally, the system shows a number 2 logo on the side, suggesting that Nintendo Switch 2 will indeed be the official name of the system.
More information on the new Nintendo console may also have come from a new report by the Taiwan Economic Daily. The report reveals that the new system will be larger than its predecessor, featuring better battery life, some AI features, likely NVIDIA DLSS support, and a dual-screen design. The console's price is estimated to be $400, which is an increase over the launch price of the original Switch but still a reasonable increase compared to the PlayStation 5 Pro price. As for the console's reveal, it is reported that it has been moved in response to the PS5 Pro announcement, but it will still come within the end of the calendar year.
F#×× I don't want a dual screen handheld again.
I don't mind a wii u like use the screen in conjunction with the tv, but I'd prefer to have one big handheld screen over two smaller ones.
The only way a dual screen thing would be acceptable is if it was a folding screen.and basically unfolding it makes the screen larger.
When could the Nintendo Switch 2 launch?
According to a report on Taiwan Economic Daily News, via Google Translate, ‘internal executives’ at Nintendo have ‘decided to advance the launch’ of the company’s next console to ‘before the end of this year’, in a move ‘stimulated by the early launch of Sony’s PS5 Pro’.
‘It will go on sale around the world in the fourth quarter at the earliest,’ the report states, but frustratingly does not clarify whether it’s talking about the calendar year (i.e. by the end of December) or the financial year (by the end of March).
A launch this year seems highly unlikely though, even if the console is revealed in the next few weeks. It is Nintendo, so nothing is impossible, but the recent leak of a number of new Switch Christmas bundles seems to all but rule it out.
The most natural guess would be an early 2025 reveal and a late spring or early autumn launch, but if this new report is suggesting a release in January or February that would not be completely unexpected – not least because Nintendo ideally wouldn’t want to release the Switch 2 at the same time as GTA 6, which is assumed to be aiming for an autumn 2025 launch.

There are already PC handhelds with specs that seemingly dwarf some of Switch 2 rumours.
They're expensive though.
I think DLSS and Nvidia GPU are going to make the most difference.
From what Moores Law is Dead was saying, it's around a Steam Deck but will have higher resolution games because of the RAM amount and DLSS.
Boo dual screen. Bring back stereoscopic 3D!
YES!
NO!
Ganru 2 is such a great throwback.
It's so 90s, one minute you're fighting through feudal Japan, the next you're doing a crazy minecart ride. Then I ran through wheatfields and ended up inside some futuristic alien ship.
I got to the top, jumped in an alien fighter jet and suddenly it's a schmup!
Always put off buying it as it confuses me in videos.
Also got Iconclasts, a cool metroidvania and Party Hard 2.
It looks like a 2D Hitman game but there's no tutorial.
Nice to see that Sony is mindful of backwards compatibility for the PS6.
