I'm also going to New Orleans later this week for the Anne Rice Vampire Ball. So probably won't be playing much of anything for a while.
I was citytripping to Dublin with my dad this weekend and thus haven't played anything. Unless you count tectonic puzzles. We've never went on a trip with the two of us before, and I'll be honnest, it was totally inspired by my own age as I start to more and more ponder the concept of mortality, both his and mine own.
Just read an article about, and was alerted to the existence of 'smartvapes'. These are in essence cheap smartphones with a built in vape, aimed at younger users. They can allegedly be used to make calls and play some games on, with some games apparently also incorporating vaping as a gameplay element. Child protection over here is already ringing the alarm bells.
What horrible things these are, built to fully exploit those prone to addictions. I wonder how long it'll take for these things to incorporate some kind of gacha not-legally-gambling elements.
We can barely get him out of the house.
Now he has bladder cancer.
Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition coming to the Switch March 20th 2025! Happy happy! Joy joy!
Not greatly excited. Willing to pay Switch tax to play some games portable but full whack for this?
The graphics look the same, mostly and the Wii U version had very few flaws.
I’m starting to doubt that the Switch 2 will launch by then. I think that they’ll announce it around that time and launch the system in the fourth quarter of 2025.
That game had an optional HDD install. With switch's low speed RAM, would the textures suffer?
Yeah, this wait for the Switch 2 is getting excruciating.
Very interested in seeing how this will compare to the Wii U version. It looks like there will be some kind of extra content as it looks like there is some kind of hint to this at the end of the trailer.
Yeah, sucks for those getting let go but not a terribly surprising outcome these days.
Thought they were going to at least take what they had retool it, repackage it, and put back out even call it something else and try to get something back out of it as well. Certainly doesn’t look like it now. Guess they deemed it to be throwing more good money after bad. Probably the right choice to be honest.
Christmas, now every level is like that candle level, only harder.
I have finished all SH2 endings, amazing game, can't be happier. On the flip side I played the Alan Wake 2 DLC The lake house which is the control crossover. Loved the story elements, which sets up control 2, but the gameplay is so standard, no effort put into anything new. One new enemy that is defeated with a new gun where all you do is charge it for a little and it kills the monster in one hit, that's it. It's just a poor expansion.
Later this week I'm getting Dragon Age, got good enough reviews. Seems it's mostly an action adventure game with some RPG story stuff and that's fine by me.
Dragon Age is looking very good. Between this, Baldurs Gate 3 and the new MonHun, I'm really tempted to make the jump to current gen. On the other hand, I might sit it out a bit to see if they get ported to Switch2. If it's roughly as capable as the Series S as some rumours have indicated, that might save me buying a second console or new PC.
Has Remedy ever made a good DLC/expansion? I haven't played Remedy's entire library, but from the DLC I have played with Control and the original Alan Wake, I've never walked away saying "this is really good and I'm glad I've played it."
