Why is that game 12gb when most other AAA games are under 9gb?
Capcoms file sizes are too much.
Plausible?
Good idea or bad idea?
Or are we looking at a q3 or q4 release?
Plausible. It's Nintendo; I'm sure they don't want the general masses to know about Switch 2 until after the holidays. Nintendo is always afraid other companies will steal their ideas too, so a January reveal and then release it 2-3 months later wouldn't surprise me at all.
Unless they've really delayed it so they could make tons of units. I don't get it, who cares about scalping? Just pre-order your console.
There's quite a few, Samsung sells and 8tb one for £400.
But there are lots of smaller ones around a tb that are cheaper than getting a tb sd card.
They even have Solid state ones.
If the Switch 2 backplate is metal, a light, small magnetic usb c storage device could just clip on and use the USB C on the top.
Most of the Shante games are on 50% off sale on PC (Gog/Steam) currently.
Does Switch support USB-C drives? I thought it was just SD cards.
I couldn't find any videos on whether the performance was patched.
Looks like I'm the Guinea Pig here.
If a normal company had a product to launch that they suspect is going to be extremely sucessful, and possibly sell out quickly a early in the year release would make sense to supress sales so they have a hope of keeping up with demand.
But video games are not normal, and you have that scarcity of supply drives more demand concept that Nintendo has been accused of (rightly or wrongly) since the NES.
If they did launch in March it would still be a wildly succesfuly one just on the back of the Nintendo fandom. I usually wait until there are at least three games I want to buy for a console, but in this case they have already stated backward compatibility is going to happen, so ther eis no reason to wait unless you have just recently purchased an OLED Switch 1.
I can see that handhelds could plausible be the future "major battlefield" for gaming as systems gradually move to a more "hybrid" system like the Switch and Steam Deck, as people care less and less about raw power from traditional consoles.
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
I am seriously not getting Balatro.
It plays like a slot machine, and I get the dopamine, but if you don't know anything about poker it's incomprehensible.
Plus, it's a rogue like, so it doesn;t seem like I am carry forward anything from my prior runs. So it's an arcade experience.
Clearly I must be completly playing this wrong. Or...
For me I've gone from desktops to bulky laptops, to slimmer laptops, to tablets to small phone, to foldable phone.
I don't have to break out a laptop to do things online anymore.
After the relative freedom of Switch, playing on the toilet, on a plane, or even the simple pleasure of moving it upstairs to bed; makes the thought of a traditional box attached to one television unappealing.
I mostly play 2D indie games too, so there's no graphical advantage on more powerful systems on most of them.
It's pretty good, about what I expected.
The frame rate hovers around 30fps with some dips here and there.
However it looks decent, has nice image quality, they remade the character models and interiors.
And it has gyro controls, which is the good part.
Well worth the hobo price I paid for it.
Thats a game I never played. Maybe soon
I played it fairly close to release on PS2 I think. I thought is was alright at the time. Nothing disqualifying. The graphical style was the appeal and kept my interest. Not sure what would bring me back to it unless a sequel was announced and they did something as equally impressive perhaps with a new graphical gimick. And if Duchovney was to return to the role.
Since the iPod that has been the devolution we've been on. Fidelity exchanged for convenience.
I have to say, I don't judge anyone for participating in it, what is more valuable than the time we have on this planet? Some snobs might argue that the quality of the experience adds value to the time you have I guess.
As usual I can side with either argument comfortably.
Turns out you can learn poker hands pretty quick now that I've played Balatro for a couple of hours. Saying that though I watched poker on TV for years and did not learn anything.
That's a limp comparision. Music is analogue and the loss occurs based on the choice of medium you presonally chose to carry it around in.
Videogames are a digital medium and their creators make these choices for you. It is only because a developer might chose to push graphics hard, that a weaker system like a hybrid handheld would be perceived as inferior.
In the case of music the creator has no say in what quality you end up enjoying their work in. With videogames, the creator is in full control.
