Or to have to break out a bluray and lean down to put it into the machine. Streaming and digital games have ruined me.
Also I've run out of space for physical media.
There are some savage sales with many games so cheap you can impulse buy them. For the price of a McDonald's meal you can get 5 or 6 games.
I'm picking up multiple titles, you can archive them if you've run out of space and just download them when ready.
Sadly the Xenoblade 3 dlc isn’t on sale. Would like to get that.
So far just got Persona 5 Royal on the PS5. Will probably get a couple more PS5 games before the sales end in the next day or two.
When civilization 7 comes out, I should live stream it. Maybe people will donate money to tell me how bad I suck at the game.
Want Persona 5.
I've stepped outside the safe umbrella of Artifex Mundi games to try a game from Ocean media.
It's another hidden object game called Twin Mind Murderous intent.
It's decent but has a fair amount of junk. One point the inventory disappeared completely which had been always on screen then permanently off.
Turns out the game was made for a mouse so you have to hover the cursor near the bottom of the screen for it to pop up.
It doesn't really use any buttons other than A.
So you don't have a quick access to going back a screen, or opening a map, or using items.
It's fine on the touch screen but somewhat less ideal on a tv. The puzzles you get, have mouse style controls which get so annoying I end up skipping most of them, rather than breaking out the touchscreen and having to get off the sofa.
The lip synching is off, there's some cut off dialogue, horrible compression on movies and some animations.
It's cheap enough and decent enough for me not to mind too much as there are higher quality aspects of the game.
I still find that True Fear is the only game of this type to reach a higher level because of the story and horror aspects.
This video popped up on YouTube.
Tencent has made an 11inch 2k screen handheld that has sterescopic 3d with no glasses like 3ds.
It looks freaking huge.
RE4 has been fun though. I've made the mistake of playing it on hardcore mode though. I am not good enough for this. I have died a lot. I'm at the cabin fight with Luis right now, and I think I failed four times now. On one hand, I appreciate how relentless all the enemies feel at this difficulty level. On the other hand, it's getting frustrating.
This weekend, I played Civ 6, Diablo 1, and Shadowgate (8-bit). I also played a single level of Starcraft Remastered so far to check it out and it looks fantastic.
Mostly played Ratchet & Clank this weekend. Really enjoy this franchise. Love the humour and the voice acting is great. Just a fun and solid game to play. Also played some more Spyro Reignited.
My point was consumers will accept compromise of quality for the sake of convenience. To your point though a developer could make a top tier game that then has to be compromised to work on a lesser platform (like dropping the frame rate, or resolution on textures). Their choice is theirs yes, but it's a commerical one driven by the popularity of convenient, if somewhat dimished capacity hardware platform.
Would love me some stereoscopic 3D though.
Time to hit the gym boys.
