I also lose connections with games after playing for a long amount of time, usually near the end of a match. I wonder what the problem is? Maybe it's my wireless connection. MP is a mixed bag. The lobby and connections are kinda crappy, but the gameplay experiences are top notch. I love the maps for this game. We just had an Onslaught matchup that was incredibly intense and fun. The two of us had some help from strangers during a co-op capture the flag session. You can tell that it's tailor made for you to have all four members of your squad, not just two.
The campaign should've had a co-op as well. What the hell is up with that? That seems inexcusable for a game that focuses on multiplayer, especially when you see it in 90% of the other mp games out there.
Well, I just finished Mirror's Edge. Cool game, but deeply flawed. I hope most of its shortcomings are fixed in the sequel.
Got much better towards the end didn't it? If they can keep that sort of complexity (and remove combat, screw making it good) over a whole game and have more varied level design then the result should be pretty fantastic.
I think it's time for some AC Brotherhood single player. AC2 was my GOTY
lastyearin 2009 and that was single player only, so having all of this extra content for the new game is great.Awesome.
Valkyria Chronicles has gone from being one of the most enjoyable games I've played to being so frustrating it's no longer fun and I'm giving serious thought to putting it in a drawer and never looking at it again. I always think it's amazing how a single level can completely throw you off like that. In the case of VC I've reached a battle where the difficulty level just dramatically spiked. Not like the game wasn't already challenging enough, but now they throw in 2 new elements that each are hell on their own, and you have to deal with that. I came within inches of beating it once (taking dramatic casualties in the process) only to lose out. I've gone through the battle 6 or 7 times now, and have easily spent over 4 hours of play on just this fight. I don't know what to do now. The game is no longer fun, and I can't advance. Guess it's back to Flower...
What part is it that you are so stuck on?
Episode 7 - The Battle at Barious. I can handle the Barious tank well enough but once Selvaria and the rest of the reinforcements comes out I'm pretty much out of luck. I can hold them off for another round or two, but waiting for the Barious tank to makes its moves just takes too long and inevitable something blows up my tank, and that's pretty much game over.
...ergh. Alright then, you got further than I ever did!
Ummm... Good Luck!
Now that I am on my proper "One Game at a Time" trip, I plan on replaying this game. If I get to this part anytime soon and have any advice, I'll pass it on.
And here I was expecting to get some sage-like wisdom. Thanks so much
It's tough, so I'm just goiing to take a break for a while. Even the FAQs all say a lot of this part comes down to luck. Can't say I like having to be lucky when it comes to strategy games.
I found there were quite a few times in the game where I was approaching something the wrong way, or didn't have the correct types of soldiers.
Once, when your team splits into two groups to infiltrate a camp in the woods, where you first learn about Relationship Boosts. I kept on getting plastered by the Tank and the Soldiers near the end.
Also when you go into the Desert with the limited visability and having to use your Tank as a moving shield.
I never got frustrated to the point where I wanted to quit. VC is the type of game you REALLY need to play from beginning to end without stopping in the middle, and at the time there were faaar too many games I was playing at once.
THIS TIME, however, I will play it correctly!
YODA!
I miss hearing your voice on Sunday mornings!
Get better soon!!!
I'll have you know, the lack of Podcasts here have made me sooo desperate, I've started to look to other Casts for my Sunday morning listening pleasure.
Take this Australian one for example...
Wait a second... THAT'S HOMER ! ? !
Hold up... GOSSIP GIRL ? ! ?
What kind of shit faqs are you reading? There's no luck involved in there. By the time Selvaria reaches the battlefield you should be all holed up in the last camp, and the Batomys should have no gatling turrets available. That way, you can turtle all you want waiting for the Batomys to shoot, and then sneak up someone towards its radiators to blow them up with grenades or lancers. The thing is, you have to keep the Batomys between yourself and Selvaria. Plant the Edelweiss with its back towards the last camp, and an engie behind it. The Batomys only cares about your tank, and Selvaria pretty much only cares about soldiers wandering around in the open. It's a hard battle, but perfectly doable without the element of luck.
You might want to level up your lancers, though. If they're not taking out the gatling turrets in a couple hits, you're not going to have enough time. And don't deploy useless people. Save immediately before the beginning of the fight so you can retry the battle without having to go through all the briefing and deployment process again.
Happy New Year everyone. Just in from the airport ... but i'm off out to dinner. will catch up with y'all in a couple of hours.

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Hello, quick update, I have been playing GT5 of course and I just borrowed Red Dead from my brother and playing that. I LOVE RDR.
I'll be on later, time to watch my crappy football team lose for the last time.
Woo! Good News all around! Happy New Years!
So played that last night. Decent vertical shooter. Thing is, it's developed by Taito, but it doesn;t say anything about that anywhere on the box. It's quite a box though.
Also played Mojo. It's a ball physics game with poor physics. Has a nice level editor though (PS2, and XB)
Stopped playing Bayonetta (PS3). I really enjoy God of War and Devil May Cry, so this game should be doing it for me, but the controls are too loose and I feel like I'm just button mashing with no direct impact on the game. I was totally impressed with the first 40 minutes of this game, but since then, I just can't play it.
Tried Condemned (360). It was much better than I thought. Nice writing, weapons felt great. Will get back to this one.
Still playing Little King's Story, Sword of Hope 2 and Donkey Kong Country 3. Making progress in all buy DKC3. 21 hours into LKS now.
Found Silent Hill Shattered Memories for $9.99 for the PSP today! They also had the Wii one for $9.99 but it was sold out.
Oh well, at least I got the PSP version!
